The Barnet Group's Personal Assistant Service, PA Choices aims to match people who are in receipt of direct payments with personal assistants who are able to support them on a day to day basis.

The Barnet Group is a local authority trading company (LATC) that was created in February 2012. It is wholly owned by the London Borough of Barnet. Across the Group we employ around 1,000 staff, providing a range of services to people who live in council-owned homes, people who are homeless or facing homelessness, care and support clients from Barnet and other local authorities, and private customers. We are a not-for-profit organisation, which means that any income we generate is reinvested into building and maintaining homes, improving our public services, and supporting communities.

We are currently recruiting personal assistants to support vulnerable adults either through age and or disability, to lead the lives they choose. The personal assistant will carry out a wide range of tasks as required by the employer, including support with washing and getting dressed, cooking, feeding, shopping and going out. We aim to match your experience to the individuals.

You must be able to communicate effectively with all parties and to feel comfortable communicating with the individuals in their preferred way. The hours of work will be flexible dependent on the needs of the individuals. If you feel that you have the qualities and skills required then we would like to hear from you. Your employer will be TBG Flex initially then directly by the individual if they wish.
