Examination
Camden with support from the Hampstead Neighbourhood Forum appointed Ms Jill Kingaby BSc(Econ) MSc MRTPI to hold an independent examination of the Neighbourhood Plan. The examination took place between January and March 2025. The following documents relate to correspondence received from the Examiner and responses provided by the Forum and Council.

The Examiner's report was received on 24 March 2025 and stated that subject to modifications being made, the Plan met the basic conditions.
The Council considered the Examiner's report and decided on 21 May 2025 to accept the Examiner's recommendations and publish the Decision Statement and proceed to formally 'make' the Plan. The adoption of the Plan was considered at Cabinet and Council in June and July 2025.

Previous Hampstead Neighbourhood Plan 2018
The Council formally adopted the Hampstead Neighbourhood Plan on 8 October 2018. This version of the neighbourhood plan has been superseded by the Hampstead Neighbourhood Plan 2025-2040 as shown above.

Referendum
To meet the requirements of the Localism Act 2011, a referendum was held on 21 June 2018. The referendum question was: “Do you want London Borough of Camden to use the Neighbourhood Plan for Hampstead Town to help it decide planning applications in the neighbourhood area?” Of the votes cast, 91.5 per cent voted in favour of adopting the Neighbourhood Plan. The turnout was 20.5 per cent.

Redesignation application 2024

The neighbourhood area boundary is proposed to remain unchanged.
The Cabinet Member for Planning and a Sustainable Camden has agreed to redesignate the Hampstead Neighbourhood Forum for a further 5 years. The decision was made on 12 November 2024.
Previous Neighbourhood Area and Forum Designation decisions (2014 and 2019)
On 7 October 2014 London Borough of Camden approved the designation of the Neighbourhood Area and the Neighbourhood Forum.

The Hampstead Neighbourhood Forum applied to the Council to be formally redesignated as a neighbourhood forum in 2019. The Council approved the application on 25 October 2019 redesignating the Forum for a further period of 5 years. No changes were proposed to the designated neighbourhood area.
