Sous Chef

We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sous Chef to join our team at the Maurice and Vivienne Wohl Campus in Golders Green. Working 40 hours per week (Monday to Friday, with occasional weekends), you will be part of a high-performing team in a modern, well-equipped kitchen, delivering high-quality meals to residents and service users. Your Role

You will support the delivery of high-quality catering services, ensuring all food produced meets agreed standards and reflects market trends, cultural requirements, and Kashrut laws. You will oversee food hygiene and Health & Safety compliance, ensuring all practices are monitored and recorded in line with regulations. Working within budget, you will manage costs while maintaining quality and efficiency. You will lead, motivate, and support the team to deliver excellent customer service, and deputise for the Head Chef when required. You will also contribute to a positive kitchen culture and support catering for events, helping to create a welcoming and enjoyable dining experience.

About You

You are an experienced and motivated culinary professional with relevant catering or food hygiene qualifications (NVQ Level 2 or 3 or equivalent) and supervisory experience in a busy kitchen environment. You are energetic, proactive, and passionate about delivering high-quality, nutritious meals. You have experience working to deadlines and managing budgets, and understand the importance of dietary, cultural, and individual needs, including the sensitivity required when supporting vulnerable people. You are a strong team player with the ability to lead and motivate others, and you are open to learning, including training in Kosher kitchen practices if required.
