Sous Chef

We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sous Chef to join our Hospitality team, working in a high-spec kitchen with top-quality equipment, including Rational iCombi ovens. This is a 35-hour per week role, working 5 days out of 7 (including some weekends), with shifts between 7:00am – 2:30pm and 11:30am – 7:00pm. Your Role

You will support the delivery of high-quality catering services, ensuring all food produced meets agreed standards and reflects market trends, cultural requirements, and dietary needs. You will oversee food hygiene and Health & Safety compliance, ensuring all practices are monitored and recorded in line with regulations. Working within budget, you will help manage costs while maintaining quality and efficiency. You will also play a key role in leading, motivating, and developing the team, fostering a positive kitchen culture and ensuring excellent customer service. In addition, you will support catering for events and contribute to a welcoming and engaging dining experience.

About You

You are an experienced culinary professional with relevant catering or food hygiene qualifications (NVQ Level 2 or 3 or equivalent) and supervisory experience in a busy kitchen environment. You are energetic, proactive, and passionate about delivering high-quality food and service. You have experience working to deadlines and managing budgets, with a good understanding of dietary requirements and the sensitivity needed when supporting vulnerable people. You are a strong team player who enjoys leading and motivating others, and you are open to learning, including training in Kosher kitchen practices if required.
