Receptionist - 1 Year Maternity Cover
We are looking for a proactive, professional, and well organised Receptionist to act as the first point of contact for our organisation. In this fast paced and varied role, you will manage the front desk, greet visitors, handle calls, and ensure our reception area remains welcoming and well presented. You will also provide essential administrative support across departments, manage mail and deliveries, coordinate appointments, and keep daily operations running smoothly. This role requires someone confident in multitasking, calm under pressure, and committed to always delivering excellent service.

Priscilla Wakefield House is a stunning 117-bed nursing home in North London, specialising in providing a caring and compassionate environment for people living with dementia. Our home has been thoughtfully designed to offer a safe and comfortable home away from home, with bedrooms, dining, entertainment and Personalised care plans all tailored to meet each individual’s needs. With the recent opening of our specialist Complex Care Unit, we now provide high-quality care and rehabilitation for both younger and older adults. As our service continues to grow, we are committed to raising the bar and are looking to recruit dedicated, skilled professionals who share our passion for delivering outstanding care and wellbeing support.
Your Role
Welcome and direct visitors professionally, maintain a tidy reception area, manage security procedures, visitor logs, badges/access fobs, and deliveries. Handle calls, enquiries, and concerns professionally. Sort and distribute mail, manage post runs, and maintain stationery stock and keep the stock cupboard tidy.. Provide admin support including printing, filing, calendars, and document prep while handling confidential information. Arrange transport, manage lunch orders, parking, and petty cash. Support HR with uniforms, recruitment & onboarding, and maintaining contact lists. Respond appropriately to safeguarding concerns. Manage meeting rooms, visitor parking, equipment checks, health and safety tasks, and assist with events and general duties. a full job description is available.

You deliver a warm, professional welcome to all visitors and colleagues, while keeping operations running smoothly. You remain calm under pressure, multitask with ease—managing visitors, calls, and admin duties. With strong communication skills, high attention to detail, and a positive, reliable attitude, you ensure high‑quality service every day. You adapt quickly, stay solutions‑focused, and consistently support both visitors and the wider team.
