Home Care Support Worker (Children with additional needs)

Special People provide homecare and community support to children and adults with learning and physical disabilities in and around London. Our mission is to create a safe, healthy and positive care environment for our service users and their families.

About Us

About the Role To enable and support children and young adults to live their lives as independently as they can. You will support people with a diverse range of needs, including learning disabilities, autism, physical disabilities, acquired brain injuries and mental health needs. You will work in a variety of settings, including people’s own homes, in health and social care settings such as supported living services and out in the community. Duties • Supporting and helping with health care needs, including routine checks or administrating medication. • Providing physical support which may include helping with household tasks and personal care. • Encouraging and supporting the development of personal skills through hobbies and interests. • Teaching life skills, such as shopping, using public transport and paying for bills.

Your Role

Desirable requirements We are especially interested in hearing from candidates with any of the following training or experiences; • Manual Handling/Hoist • First Aid • Epilepsy • Medication Administration • PEG feeding • BI PAP Ventilation • Autism • Challenging Behaviour • Safeguarding Children/Adults
