Islington's Health & Social Care Resource Hub and Camden and Islington Foundation Trust are hosting a series of information sessions on the 5th August to give you a better understanding of what a Peer Coach or Peer Worker does and how your experience and understanding of your community can help you to support residents to Improve their lives. Are you, or candidates you work with, interested in finding out more about what a Peer Coach/Worker actually does and gain a better understanding of the type of candidates they are looking to recruit? Please join us at one of the information sessions to find out more about the roles from the hiring manager on the 5th August at 10.30 -11.30 or 2pm

Your Role

To become a Peer Coach/Worker you will need to have the following transferrable skills: • At least one year of experience of paid or unpaid peer work supporting others who are experiencing mental health problems • Communication skills that suit a coaching approach and liaison with a range of people • Good IT skills • An awareness of local services and supports • Skills and experience planning and supporting recovery-oriented activity with others • Please note that you must have a lived experience of mental health problems and treatment in order to apply for this role. Candidates with experiences of specialist mental health team treatment and/or psychosis will be particularly welcome as will people who have long term physical conditions
