Finding the right type of physical activity that you enjoy doing, can be done conveniently and that offers the right benefits for your individual situation is important. There are lots of organisations that have information about being active with a number of different health conditions.
Falls prevention
The Camden Integrated Primary Care Falls Service provides two levels of falls prevention exercise groups:
- Staying Steady
- clinical referral scheme for physical activity
Long-term health conditions
The Stronger My Way campaign from the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy has advice to help you maintain and improve your physical strength. It's for those suffering with long-term health conditions who might being struggling with physical or mental health symptoms.
Mental Health
For those with mental health conditions or symptoms, the charity MIND has information on how exercise can help you. Their Healthy Minds in Camden project has lots of courses, workshops and activities, including yoga and badminton. There are also resources on the Mental Health Camden website.
Neurological conditions
Local Exercise Groups for Stroke and Neuro Conditions (LEGS) run supported exercise classes led by a physiotherapist for people who have a neurological condition or have had a stroke.
